Featured Speaker
Mike Redondo
Major Gifts Director | Scouting America, Quivira Council
WIBA member Mike Redondo serves as Major Gifts Director for Scouting America Quivira Council, the region's premier youth development organization. Based in Wichita, he leads fundraising efforts across 49 counties, cultivating transformational philanthropy that expands Scouting’s impact for families throughout Southern Kansas. Under his leadership, Quivira Council has emerged as one of the most respected councils among Scouting America’s 240 councils nationwide.
Originally from Southern California, Mike discovered Kansas while attending Sterling College and quickly made it home. After five years as a traveling stage manager with theater and opera companies across the Midwest, he and his wife, Heather, settled permanently in Wichita in 2018. They welcomed their son, Declan, into their family in 2022.
In recent years, Mike’s life - both personally and professionally - has been shaped by profound change: a career transition, a global pandemic, national organizational upheaval, and more recently, Heather’s diagnosis with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease). These experiences have reinforced one defining principle that anchors his leadership and outlook: remembering your “why” amidst adversity. When plans unravel and uncertainty takes hold, Mike believes success is less about panic and pivoting and more about staying rooted, reflecting on the journey, and leaning on the people who walk it with you.
