Dawn Shepler's focus is driven by a passion for advocacy and a commitment to serving others. With 31 years of experience in law enforcement and advocacy, she has dedicated her career to amplifying the voices of those who need it most. As a former Specialized Mental Health Parole Officer with the Kansas Department of Corrections, she witnessed the impact of systemic barriers on individuals and communities, fueling her desire to create positive change.

In her previous role as Executive Director of the Mental Health and Substance Abuse Coalition, Dawn listened to and learned from individuals, families, and communities affected by mental health and substance abuse issues. She saw the resilience of the human spirit and the power of collective action. Through advocacy, she helped bridge gaps in services and support, and she remains steadfast in her commitment to this critical work.

Now, as President/CEO of HumanKind Ministries, Dawn is honored to continue advocating for those who face obstacles to stability and self-sufficiency. Her goal is to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where individuals can find hope, healing, and empowerment. She believes that everyone deserves dignity, respect, and compassion, and she is dedicated to using her voice and experience to drive meaningful change.
