Join us as we hear from Jacqueline “Jaci” Kelly 

Jaci's career began as an analyst for federal defense programs in Virginia. In 2009, her husband’s Air Force career brought their family to Wichita, Kansas, where the connections they made deeply rooted them in the community.

Upon settling in Wichita, Jaci dedicated herself to raising their children while volunteering at the base legal office. Over time, she embraced the opportunity to attend law school, navigating the demands of motherhood and supporting her husband’s military deployments. Her commitment to Kansas flourished during her studies at Washburn University School of Law, culminating in a notable internship with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Kansas and her graduation in 2014.

Currently serving as the City Attorney for Derby, Kansas, Jacqueline provides counsel to the city’s management team and governing body on a wide range of civil law issues. Her previous roles include serving as City Attorney for Bel Aire and as a Prosecutor for the Sedgwick County District Attorney’s Office, where she specialized in civil probate, juvenile offender, and traffic cases.

Beyond her professional achievements, she actively engages with her community. She holds leadership roles as president of the Wichita Women Attorneys Association and vice chair of the Kansas Real Estate Commission. Her civic involvement extends to serving as an Honorary Commander at McConnell Air Force Base, as well as sitting on the Sedgwick County District 1 Advisory Board and the Board of Governors for the Wichita Bar Association.

Jacqueline and her husband Darryl, attend Central Christian Church, and enjoy traveling, and investing time, prayer, and resources into their three wonderful children, Jayda (19), Trey (17), and Janae (15).
