Formerly known as the Wichita Marathon, the inaugural Prairie Fire Fall Marathon took place in 2010, followed by the Prairie Fire Spring Half Marathon in 2013. Over the past 15 years, more than 65,000 runners have participated in Prairie Fire events, with participants traveling to Wichita from all 50 states and more than 20 countries. Today, the Prairie Fire Marathon is recognized as a premier urban marathon, offering runners a flat, fast, Boston Marathon-qualifying course and an exceptional race-day experience year after year.
