Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Market HR Services, a company of Market Advisory Group, is looking for a full-time payroll specialist for our Wichita, KS office. The payroll specialist will be responsible for managing and maintaining payroll for clients’ employees, as well as maintaining employee and salary databases.   


Typical duties and responsibilities 

• Set-up employee information in payroll software 

• Prepare and submit payroll checks/direct deposits for clients’ employees 

• Have a knowledge of and keep current with the taxation of salaries, benefits, and other factors 

• Process and monitor garnishment orders and other issues that impact payroll specifications 

• Maintain and document all payroll records 

• Detect and process issues with uncollected payroll 

• Respond to client inquiries regarding payroll issues or concerns 


Required skills and qualifications 

• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding financial matters 

• Excellent knowledge of word processing tools and spreadsheets 

• Great attention to detail 

• Strong time management and organizational skills; able to work independently and effectively manage multiple tasks at once 

• Ability to build relationships with clients and internal partners and team members. 


Preferred qualifications

• 2+ years of experience managing payroll   

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field preferred 

• Knowledge of local and state tax laws 

• Excellent written skills 

• Self-motivated 


Compensation

• Starting pay is negotiable at $20/hr, based on experience, and includes a competitive benefits package.
