Sheriff Easter received his Bachelor's Degree in Leadership and Management from Friends University. He began his law enforcement career with the Wichita Police Department in 1989. During his career with the Wichita Police Department he worked as an officer\, detective\, sergeant\, Gang/Felony Assault Lieutenant\, and was the Captain at Patrol North when he retired from the Wichita Police Department in 2012.In 2012\, Jeff Easter was elected as the Sheriff for Sedgwick County and after completing the New Sheriff Training at KLETC took office on December 17\, 2012. He supervises 568 employees in Sheriff Operations\, Sheriff Investigations\, Court Services\, and the Detention Facility.In 2006\, Sheriff Easter was a Wichita Business Journal 40 under 40 recipients. Sheriff Easter also is a graduate of Leadership Wichita. In 2007\, Sheriff Easter was the Wichita Crime Commission Law Enforcement Officer of the Year. In 2019\, Sheriff Easter was the Kansas Sheriff's Association Sheriff of the Year and the Wichita Metro Crime Commission Law Enforcement Professional of the Year.Sheriff Easter has four wonderful kids Melissa\, Jaiden\, and Sophia and Kevin Scott\, and 5 grandchildren.We are proud to share that Sheriff Jeffrey Easter received the Francis R.
